Bio

Doug BuronPastor Doug is a San Jose native. Doug was introduced to Jesus just before his senior year in high school through the ministry of Young Life. This encounter with Jesus changed his view of God, himself and the world. He felt a call to ministry but had no idea what that was! Growth and clarification ensued and Doug spent the next 29 years as a coach, teacher, and/or youth pastor.  Sometimes all 3 at the same time!   In 2005, Doug became lead pastor of LifeChurch Silicon Valley in San Jose.  A 1975 graduate of Camden High School (now a lovely strip mall!), Doug went on to San Jose State University before finishing his degree at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.

Doug started in ministry first with Young Life, then at Calvary Community Church in San Jose. Then went on the road doing training seminars for youth workers and speaking at camps, churches, retreats and conventions. Doug and his young family then spent the following 11 years at North Valley Christian Fellowship (Now LifeGate) in Milpitas, CA., and Victory Christian Center (Now Victory Church) in Oklahoma City, OK. They’ve been back home in California since 2004.

Doug, and his wife Debbie, have 3 daughters. Rebecca and Courtney are 26-year-old twins. Rebecca is an ER nurse.  Courtney teaches 5th grade.   The youngest, Shelby, is 23 years old, works with kids and keeps us up on the latest music. Debbie, a former “Missionary Kid” and a graduate of Bethany University, now teaches Spanish at Valley Christian Elementary School.
